Down House, the family home of the world-renowned scientist and English naturalist Charles Darwin. It was in this house and garden that Darwin worked on his theories of evolution by natural selection which he had conceived in London before moving to Down.  Stand in the Study where Darwin wrote 'On the Origin of Species', stroll through the gardens that inspired him and discover his and wife Emma's newly recreated bedroom which overlooks the gardens.  Guided tour of House with free-flow stroll around the gardens.  Time for lunch (not included) in the Tearooms located in the kitchen where in the the mid 19th century all the Darwin's meals were prepared - or bring your own picnic. 

BIGGIN HILL MEMORIAL MUSEUM, WESTERHAM, KENT:

Telling the story of Britain's most famous fighter station through the personal experiences of those who served there and the community that supported them.

The Museum is situated on the same site as St George's RAF Chapel of Remembrance built in 1951 to preserve the legacy of those who served and died at Biggin Hill during the Second World War.  The Museum safeguards the future of this important building.
